Amazing sounding little powerful amp!
By Amazon Customer
I just recently bought this amp. I also purchased the recommended power supply adapter. It that says 12v 1500ma in the description which i’m glad to say it’s actually 12v 6 amp and much beefier than I anticipated, and has no switching noise what so ever. Seems to be a great psu and Amp. The amp sounds fabulous even on battery’s, and even better on the psu. I did have a small issue when I received it. The left channel was going out after about 1 minute of use but as soon as I turned it off and on it came back but would go away again another minute later. So I opened it up and pressed on the tripath ta2020 chip with my finger to heatsink it a little and the problem went away, so i put a small heat sink on it and the problem stopped. So now it works fabulous and sounds excellent. Like I mean sounds great and is about as powerful as a older pioneer 75watt 2 channel amp. and actually seems almost as powerful as my yamaha rx-v675 (this amp can put 240 watts per channel dynamic power into 2 ohms). It gets more powerful than I can stand with these speakers and Pioneer sp-fs52 towers that are 6 ohms and 86db sensitivity (a challeng for any amp) Mind you I’m running it with a real line out and sometimes a pre amp when I feel like it. Do not use a cell phone and expect to get full power with low distortion (they don’t give enough voltage to properly power an amp) I have it paired with my 95db sensitivity klipsch RM-15 as well as a 10 inch sub and my ASUS Xonar Essence sound card with a high end TI Burr Brown pcm 1792 DAC. The combination Rivals extremely expensive systems costing way more, Great synergy with this combo. Even with the slight issue I’m extremely satisfied with this purchase and absolutely love this little amp. Seems well built to and I’ve had many nice sound setups as well as heard many this is a very nice sounding amp for so little money. Very clear sound with the smallest details and nice and warm and punchy but present sound. It’s just like my SET tube amp with more power and punch in the low end and everywhere else great mid range and treble as well for the price it’s a no brainer just buy 1 to try even. I bet you wouldn’t guess it’s only 15wpc or less I’m a big fan of these tripath chips now and will be recommending them and buying more!

Staggering, five stars at this price
By Cracked Vinyl
Amazing sound. Battery powered, it drove my psb alpha b1 speakers to uncomfortably loud levels ( near field)
The sound quality is very nice, frankly; even for a home stereo. I genuinely prefer these class- t amps to my Jolida tube amp, and it seems the equal to my Yamaha natural sond reciever. It’s barely any worse than my 356 bee NAD amp , if you listen back to back, well then the NAD gets the nod, barely.
I will buy more of these. Great for power outages, the park, the car , the bathroom, the garage.
Other chip amps can be ran on batteries too, but this one has the casework to handle them right away. Sleek, well designed, well built for the price. Comes with audio cable for RCA to 1/8th input and an adaptor for the same.
I wish it had regular RCA jacks and tone control, but it does have a headphone jack , most of these do not. This jack delivers the same sound quality. It SEEMS to have a lot of gain, I don’t have any super hard to drive headphones, but at half volume with the Grado phones I have, it was about painful…. This SHOULD make an excellent portable headphone amp as well!! ( that is to say that it DOES, but what I don’t know is if it would drive electrostatic phones or other hard to drive phones… Of course no one is realistically going to do that with this at this price and considering its not being sold FOR that, I doubt it matters, but I really do think this will drive just about any phones…)

Died after a couple weeks
By Jose Diaz
I really wanted to like this amp. It seemed small and convenient with battery power and a headphone out. However it died after a couple of weeks. At least, the speaker outs died. The headphone out still works fine. It would stop playing intermittently and today it just stopped forever. Maybe it will work if you only want to use it as a headphone amp.
